I would like to share this poem with you that I wrote myself about the season's in Southwest Florida:
Florida Living
No other place could ever be;
As beautiful as Florida is to me:
Lot's of sunshine most of the year;
Which is only one of the reason's I like it here:
There is always green if you look around;
And beautiful flowers on every mound:
In Florida's country you can see;
Florida black bears, panther and white tailed deer:
Florida's beaches and oceans are a delight;
To listen, to watch, what a beautiful sight:
Finding shells along the beach;
And every one within your reach:
There are no season's some do say;
But there are if you live here day to day:
You have to look a little harder you see;
And if you don't see them, just ask me:
In winter you'll know by the coolness in the air;
The bald cypress and red maple are totally bare:
Rain comes down seldom during this time;
And the fire index starts to climb:
In spring the cypress trees turn a brilliant green;
And the leaves on the Maple can be seen:
Wild flowers start to bloom everywhere;
It gets so pretty you have to stare:
In summer it rains and gets very hot;
And the humidity doesn't ever drop:
Hurricane season can give you a scare;
A season without a storm is very rare:
In autumn cypress and maples begin to change;
From oranges and reds in the color range:
The ground dries up and the humidity is low;
The weather is beautiful and Florida puts on a show:
Yes, living in Florida is a special treat;
It's very fine living and always pretty neat.
